Black, White and Fur

Instagram has been flooded with pictures of White Christmases and snow days but in Maryland we have been getting rain, rain, and wind! It hasn't made for ideal shopping weather but one plus side -- shorter lines!

Black Pixie Pants -- $80.00, J Crew. | Checkered Shirt -- $11.00, Old Navy Sale. | Fur Vest -- $20.00, Target. | Leather Boots -- $30.00, JCPenney After Christmas Sale.

Hope you are enjoying your last few days of winter vacation! Just about one more month and we are half way done with the school year! I am itching for some warm weather and palm trees!

Casual New Years Attire

Once you have reached legal age New Years Eve is typically spent at a bar or night club adorned in head to toe sparkles! One of the my favorite things about New Years is getting dolled up for the special occasion.

In years past, I would spend the $50+ ticket required for the night at the bar with my friends and I always had a blast! In an effort to save some money -- and the fact I have be on the road quite early on New Years day to make it back to town for work on the 2nd! -- my boyfriend and I will be spending New Years much more low key this year. But I am in no way leaving my beloved sparkles at home!

Since New Years attire is typically formal I decided to pair some casual New Years looks in case you are in the same boat as me with a New Years party with a more casual feel.

Look 1: Boyfriend Jeans and Leather
I adore pairing my boyfriend jeans with a pair of classic heels. Add some sparkles, a spiky necklace with a pop of color and some leather and I am a happy New-Years-ready gal!

 Sequins top -- $19.99 , Marshalls. | Leather Jacket -- $60.00, Kohls. | Boyfriend Jeans -- $15.00, Gap. [similar] | Nude Heels -- $29.99, TJ Maxx. [similar]  | Green Necklace -- $24.99, Francescas.

Look 2: All Black with a Touch of Sparkle
What better way to spotlight some sparkle with with head to toe black?! All eyes go right to the sequins -- and for New Years thats exactly what I want! Pairing it with some black ballet flats and a gold clutch and I'm ready to enjoy the evening!

Black Pixie Pants -- $80.00, J Crew. | Black Long Sleeve -- $12.95, H&M | Sequined Scarf -- $14.99, Target. | Gold Clutch, $ 16.99. | Ballet Flats (not pictured) -- $40.00, Steve Madden. | Chain Bracelet -- $20.00, TJ Maxx. | True Love BCBG Bracelet -- $18.00, Belk.

Dressing up for a night on the town? Check out my Sparkles Night Out Post for a going out New Years outfit!

I can't wait to see everyone's glittery New Years ensembles! HAPPY NEW YEAR! I have faith 2013 is going to be one for the books!

Skirt and tights

Lauren Conrad never lets me down. While out helping my boyfriend purchase a Christmas gift for my mother I did a little shopping of my own and really lucked out with this gorgeous beaded skirt. I can already think of a few ways to pair this piece -- but today I chose comfy with a pop of maroon. And, hey, when I tried it on at home I even got a compliment from the boyfriend which, of course, makes me like it even more ;)

Maroon Top -- $12.95, H&M. | Chunky Knit Sweater -- $19.99, Express via Marshalls. | Beaded Skirt -- $34.00, Lauren Conrad. | Franco Sarto Boots --$99.99, Marshalls. [similar
