Date Night

Last night the boyfriend and I went out for dinner and drinks after an usually hot and humid day. So since it still feels like the middle of summer white jeans seemed very appropriate! For those who say 'No white after labor day' I say pish posh! Sport those whites honey!

Coral top -- $19.99, Marshalls. White jeans -- $12.99, TJMaxx. BCBG Wedges -- $30.00, Ross. Teal/Mint Bib Necklace --$34.00,

As I am sure you've now noticed, I am quite the Maxxinista! I frequent stores like TjMaxx, Marshalls, Nordstrom Rack and any other store I know I can find great quality clothes for an awesome price. If you stay clear of these stores I highly encourage you to give them a try again! Where else can you find a $300.00 pair of Franco Sarto boots for only $99! When you wear boots for almost 6 months out of the year that is one amazing investment for a great quality item!

I will be posting about some essential staple pieces this upcoming week but until then enjoy your last weekend of September! I hope you are getting less rain than we are!

Casual Friday

I could write an entire post explaining why I love Fridays but without stating the obvious I will sum it up in two words -- jean day! Like most places of employment we have casual Fridays where we are allowed to where jeans accompanied with our school colors. Since our colors our gold and navy blue my new mustard yellow cardigan and a dark wash skinny suited the day perfectly! Pairing it with one of my new favorite fall necklaces and dark teal nail -- Go Bruins!

Old Navy shirt -- $9.00 last year. H&M Cardigan -- $12.99. Abercrombie skinny jeans --$39.99. Francesca's Necklace -- $24.00. Sam Edelman sandals -- $60.00.

Yup, you read that correct Abercrombie jeans! While recently at the mall I passed by Abercrombie & Fitch and saw a "Sale - All Jeans $39.99" sign and couldn't pass up a pair of dark washed skinnies -- fits perfect with a pair of boots for the fall and winter!

Happy Friday!

Zoya and Birchbox

If you follow me on Instagram, xochristinemarie, or know me personally you will not be surprised to hear me admit -- I am a nail polish junkie! What better way to complete an outfit than with the perfect nail color? Especially while shopping on a budget, a plain outfit can be jazzed up with a simple red nail! How fun is that?

One of my favorite colors is teal so I had so much fun this summer wearing different shades of bright summer teals! Since it is now officially Fall I had to give my teal polishes a 'I'll miss you, see you next Spring!' and break out the fall colors.

Thanks to Birchbox I was introduced to my new favorite color. Over the summer I was subscribed to Birchbox -- if you are unfamiliar it is a $10 monthly beauty subscription that sends out a box full of high end beauty samples, from eyeshadows and foundations to hair products and nail polish! If you are interested here is the link: If you are experimenting with high end beauty products but don't want to splurge without giving them a try this is a great way to try them out! I have found so many goodies! Oh yes, now back to fall nail polish color... I was sent Zoya 'Bevin' and was just itching for fall to start so I could start sporting this gorgeous color. I would describe it as the perfect fall teal!

Zoya polishes may run you a little more than a drug store brand --at about $8.00 a bottle -- but well worth the money when having to apply fewer coats and less touch ups! Such a pretty color, wouldn't you say?

Burgundy and Leopard wait, maroon...or oxblood? Okay, whatever it is that you prefer to call it there is no denying it is in every store come Fall. I've had so much fun adding this gorgeous color to my wardrobe so far this season. Luckily, it looks great on everyone! I've posted two On the Job outfits and finished it off with a fun Off the Job ensemble. I hope it leaves you feeling inspired!

Max Studio skirt-- $19.99, Marshalls. Old Navy Shirt -- $19.99. American Eagle Jean Jacket --$60.00. AK Belt -- $9.99, Marshalls. Steve Madden ballet flats -- $40.00

Burgundy skinny jeans -- $15.99, TJMaxx. Top and Blazer, H&M last year. AK Belt -- $9.99, Marshalls. Steven Madden -- $40.00

Although this outfit had some warmer colors it's been perfect for these cool Fall mornings with the sheer top and light cotton blazer.

H&M Cardigan in Mustard yellow-- $12.99. H&M Burgundy Dress --$12.99. Urban Outfitters Boot Socks --$14.99. Leopard Scarf --$7.99 Ross. Franco Sarto boots --$99.99, Marshalls.

Of course this last outfit would not be appropriate for the classroom but it's a fun and casual way to wear burgundy throughout the fall weekends -- with a bit of a Harry Potter flare, wouldn't ya say? ;)

I hope you are inspired to run to your mall and pick up some burgundy essentials for this Fall! Happy Shopping...Compliments of Christine Marie :)

Classroom Tour

At the beginning of every school year a few things happen: teachers get rosters of new students, lesson plans come out of storage, and -- the most exciting part-- we get to unpack all our Pinterest inspired DIYs that we spent all summer building to decorate our classrooms!

Although I thoroughly enjoyed my summer of beach trips and sleeping in, as soon as August rolled around I could not wait to unlock my classroom and get to decorating! In honor of a brand new blog here is a sneak peak of my new classroom!

Since the majority of my posts will be fashion related, I wanted to get this in before I got too carried away with all my shopping goodies! :) Enjoy!

I found these at the party store and with some glitter cutout numbers and a fun background they make the perfect table signs!

No lockers or large cubbies in kindergarten, so where on earth do we store our bookbags -- Bins that match my table signs, of course!

Reupholstered mom's old yard sale chair for a quick and cheap Teacher chair-- my student's love it!

Some fun Library Center decor! I found this bench idea on pinterest -- super easy, super comfy!

You won't find a conventional teachers desk in our classrooms -- with all the surrounding documents, binders of data and testing, I had to add a little 'island getaway' to sooth my soul :)

I'll end this post with this cute little guy. How adorable is this? It's never to early for some holiday decorations!

Now you see where I spend the majority of my day.  In honor of my first week of blogging, I'll be posting each day, so get ready for the fun stuff -- clothes! Every new school year starts with back-to-school shopping! :)
