Winter Make up Essentials

My 'beauty' posts typically consist of nail polish changes but make up just as close to my heart! Shocking right? When I find a goody I tend to stay pretty faithful to the product but who doesn't love to experiment once in awhile? I absolutely love watching beauty gurus and their product reviews, it's just about the best way to research all those items you 'want to buy but don't want to invest unless you're sure you'll love!' (you know, those items!) and make up is certainly something I will put my money into. Stumped on what to ask for for Christmas this year? Add some of these goodies to your list -- I promise you won't be disappointed!

Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua is my hands down favorite foundation. I first discovered this item through Missglamorazzi and FleurDeForce's reviews [click their names to watch their video reviews]. It truly is all they talked it up to be! I love a light and airy feel in my foundation -- in other words, I want to feel comfortable talking with someone in natural daylight and not have them thinking my face looks like a cake! If you like full coverage, this may not be the foundation for you, but if you'd like a light coat of 'perfection' as some have described it...then you'll love it!

I use bareMinerals as my powder/foundation setter. Yes, I know many use this and only this as their foundation -- and I did for years as well -- but I always noticed my face appeared bare after a few hours. By using the Vitalumiere as the base they combine to make make up magic ;)

If you are active in the blogging/youTube world then you have undoubtably heard/seen/or even own the Naked palettes. Is it all it's are talked up to be? YES! I kept telling myself I would not purchase the palette until I finished all the bareMinerals eyeshadows I had acquired over the years. The day I ran out I had the Naked 2 palette purchased and on it's way to my apartment! A great bonus -- you can find tons of tutorials on the internet using this palette, how fun is that?

For years I didn't use a highlighter. What was I thinking, right? This picture below shows a perfect example of just how much a highlighter can add -- MAC's Mineralized Skinfinish is my highlighter of chose!

A gorgeous lip can complete an entire look, which is no secret to any of us. I have been searching high and low for the perfect nude lip and I have finally found it. MACs Jubilee! Doesn't exactly look nude though does it? I think I finally discovered why I could never find a nude color that really stole my heart -- with my lip and skin color I needed to go a little darker. This shade matches my lip to a T!

The holidays just aren't the holidays with a red lip. NYX lip cream is as good as it gets. I picked this gem up at Urban Outfitters for under $5, can't beat that. It feels like butter going on and with some gloss it lasts all day! Perfect stocking stuffer!

If you have seen my Little Black Dress post then you were introduced to my favorite oxblood lip -- MAC's Pop Mode --by adding Revlon Just Bitten in Midnight and topping it with MAC's Pop Mode you have a gorgeous oxblood lip that stays all day. LOVE.
