Shorts and Detailed Stockings

Polka Dots, floral, stripes, opaque -- we're talking all things stockings today! My stockings collection seems to be growing by the year and I adore the diversity of the often overlooked accessory. I will admit, for the first few years of adding stockings to my winter wardrobe I stuck with opaques and stripes as you can see in last years post here.  But this year, florals and polka dots have stolen my heart.
When I spotted these floral  Jessica Simpson stockings at Nordstrom Rack I fell in love with their romantic print. I knew black booties and gold accents would compliment this holiday stocking for a night out and dinner date with my handsome. As I'm sure you have noticed from previous posts I love adding a comfy chunky knit sweater with nearly all my holiday outfits!

Are you loving stockings this season? Show me your favorites! I have a post coming with my favorite polka dot pair I scored for under $10 at Target! Keep an eye out and in the mean time show me your favs!

Black, White, and Gold

When it comes to dressing for the holidays green and red are standard. You can't go wrong with a bright red or an emerald green whether it be an article of clothing, accent jewelry or even a nail polish. And believe me -- I wear a ton of both. But one color I have noticed entering my holiday wardrobe the last few years -- gold! I sometimes have to remind myself to tone down the sequins, sparkles and accent of all things gold. {did anyone else just envision that Goldmember scene from Austin Powers?!}
You saw these cute polka dot flats in my last holiday post and I am sure you will see them a ton more because, well, I just adore them and they scream festive in my book. With a gold clutch, accents, nails and just a pop of emerald with studs I am feeling the holiday spirit.

Comfy Casual

I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving! Our trip to Green Bay, Wisconsin was amazing. My entire dad's side of the family was able to make it for the holiday {which is a ton of us -- to see our family picture make sure to check out my instagram} and we even took a day trip to Michigan to visit with my honey's side of the family. How great that our extended families live within driving distance. The only thing missing was babe's parents and siblings to make it all feel complete. Oh and a Packer win, that would have completed the holiday, I mean did anyone see that game? {yikes}  But after snow and temps in the teens I am very thankful to be home with 70 degree sunny days.  I loved seeing my family and getting just a couple days of cold and snow nothing beats coming home to palm trees and beaches.

 To warm up a bit I threw on a oversized flowy Brandy Melville sweater and some boots for a stroll on the beach. Welcome December!
I am still wrapping my head around the thought that it is already December and in only 3 short weeks Christmas will be here. I don't know about you but I am feeling a little gypped of my holiday this year! Only 3 weeks? {I'm sure glad I put my tree up 2 weeks ago and have had Taylor Swift's Christmas album on blast}

With Christmas parties coming, a special Holiday Event I will be co-hosting at Fashion Island, and many other fun Christmas events, you have a ton of Holiday attires coming your way!

Holiday Polka Dots

Happy Thanksgiving week! I hope this post finds you cuddled up with a warm beverage surrounded by family and friends {or a cocktail, depending on how your family gets down}
I have a ton to be thankful for and I try to remind myself to count those blessings all year round. But, of course, when life gets in the way it's nice to have holidays like this to give us time to reflect and remind us.

This year I will be reunited with my parents {after 3 long months}, my grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles, sister, and my boyfriend who will be taking the flight with me to enjoy, what the weather calls for, a snowy Thanksgiving! Will be nice to see a few days of snow opposed to our constant 70 degree weather {which by no means am I complaining about, ya'll!}

If you follow my instagram, @xochristinemarie, then you saw a picture from this past weekend of a Christmas Pinterest Party with some girlfriends. We made appetizers, desserts, and took a Michael's trip to get supplies for our Christmas DIYs. While sipping some wine and watching a chick flick we got to crafting and had a great night! Yes, yes I know, it's not even Thanksgiving yet -- this way we can enjoy our newly made Christmas decor all season long!

With all our Christmas crafting I thought, hey, it's never too early to give some Holiday outfit inspirations and I couldn't think of a better way then to introduce my new favorite holiday item. I love gold and polka dots all year round, but something about their combo screams 'festive' in my eyes. Adding my favorite Kendra Scott accent ring and it's just enough to say "Bring on the eggnog!"
