Casual Sequins

Wow, this month has been filled with a visit from my parents, a new job, baby showers, birthday parties, football games and some sicknesses. Blogging has unfortunately taken a little bit of a back seat while I learn how to juggle all that is involved in our busy new life here. Being surrounded by so many amazing friends and family here there is certainly no complaint about this busy life! But as it settles down a bit I was able to snap some pics as my honey and I walked to get a quick burger and fries on a gorgeous Sunday.

Sequences are typically for a night out on the town or a holiday party but today I was able to dress them down a bit for our casual lunch date. Come on girl -- break the rules a bit.

A sequins dress, chambray top and a nude sandal. Comfy and casual.

I have a list of outfits that has been growing and growing and I am finally scheduling in a shoot this week so look out for a ton of new posts coming soon!
Sequins dress-- $15.00, Victorias Secret (sale from $120) || Chambray top -- $40.00, American Eagle. || Nude Flats -- $12.00, LC for Kohls.

Favorite Fall Trends 2013

I am adoring booties this fall and it will be the first thing I break out once the temperatures drop. If you haven't spotted any that you love just yet -- I encourage you to take a trip to Target, a ton of cute booties and it's still so early in the season! Expect a ton of posts featuring these adorable fall must-haves.

If you follow my instagram {@xochristinemarie} then you have seen a few pics featuring headwraps. I will admit they take some real working with to stay exactly how I like them -- so if you have a special trick, I'm all ears! I can't stop searching instagram and etsy for colorful and patterned headbands. I have a feeling this may replace some scarves wearing this coming season!

Okay, okay, now this look took some getting use to, I'll have to admit. I think it takes the right outfit and the perfect fit to really pull these off. Of all the items I have mentioned in this post this is the one I have yet to get my hands on. Still searching for the perfect pair to sport this season and just the right outfit but I am loving pinterest hunting for these bad boys.

Hands down Kimonos are my new favorite article of clothing. I already own more than I would even like to admit! You can see how I styled a fun aztec printed kimono by clicking here. I have a ton of posts coming with my fun and flowing kimonos -- eek, I am in love!

You may have even noticed how often a vest makes an appearance on xo Christine Marie. I have gone into detail about my love for mixed prints and layering -- especially in the fall -- and this is the perfect way to add depth to any outfit. I have started quite a vest collection which I look forward to adding to this season. Also the perfect way to conceal straps on tank tops if your look calls for more coverage.

Any items you are loving this season that I missed? Leave a comment below and let me know! And don't forget to follow my blog via BlogLovin'

Sweater Tank

Its that time of year where we are running to Starbucks for a Pumpkin Spiced Latte, pumpkin muffins, {pumpkin anything really}, breaking out the NFL jerseys and yearning for cooler weather and a chance to break out the fall clothes we have been buying all month! All of the aforementioned can be achieved...but oh wait, it is still 90 degrees out. That sweater and those new boots, sadly, have gotta wait!

While wanting to style my new sweaters and adorable new booties {eek I can't wait!} I have to slow it down a bit and find a way to incorporate some fall items while still staying cool in the warm weather. With layers and sweater tanks/ dresses I can accomplish just that. I snagged this sweater tank from Express last year at an end of summer sale so this is the perfect time to grab one of your own! Layering it with a denim vest -- or even a denim jacket if the temps are dropping in the evening where you are at -- and I am able to stay cool while opening inviting some fall fashion into my look.

Now I think it's time for a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte run...
Sweater Tank -- Express, old. | Denim vest -- $25.00, Kohls, LC Lauren Conrad. | Stone Necklace -- TJ Maxx. | Wrap Bracelet -- $10.00, Pier 1. | Michael Kors sandals -- $60.00, last year DSW. |

Happy Labor Day! I hope this post finds you enjoying this last weekend of summer. I'm sad to see you go sweet summer, see ya next year!
In my last romper related post I mentioned how difficult it can be to find the perfect fitting rompers so the fact I took a gamble and ordered this floral romper from Ebay without being able to try it on... I have to question my sanity. But I lucked out and was happy I took the risk! It's been a summer stable the last 2 years and I haven't grown tired of it.

However, the romper isn't even my favorite piece of today's post! I am obsessing over head wraps, turbans and headbands for the Fall and I imagine every gal will sportin' them. I ordered this mustard knotted headband from Lemon & Lace for only $11.99, which is a steal!

Romper -- Old, via Ebay {can you believe it?!} | Cream vest -- $4.95,  Forever 21. | Heels -- old, Target. | Headpiece -- $12.00, Lemon & Lace.
