How to do a Sock Bun without the Sock post which I originally posted because its a fast a super easy hair style for the classroom. Warm weather is approaching and we all know once summer hits we all crave that effortless beachy look. After years of hair dying, blow drying, straightening and curling I am happy to try any new hair style that requires little to no heat! This beachy wavy hair does just that!
I do have naturally wavy hair but with no products it looks like a frizzy mess! After browsing pinterest I came across a summery easy way of achieving beautiful waves without a ton of damage or time. After testing it out for a few weeks I knew I had to share! Ladies, here is a super easy and fun hair style for the spring and summer that requires 10 minutes -- tops!
The final product -- keep reading for the step-by-step How- to!
All you'll need:
- A heat taming spray, I use any time I use any type of heat on my hair no matter how little!
- Sea Salt Spray
- Small hair ties
- Straightener
This is what I am left with after letting my hair air dry.
I have fairly fine hair so I am able to get away with sectioning my hair into quarters. You'll notice I start my first section on the top and somewhat high.
If you have thick hair I would suggest adding a couple more braids -- the more/tinnier the braids the tighter the wave.
I then continue with a braid on the underneath.
I repeat for the other side.
I am left with this beauty! 2 braids on each side.
I then place my straightener around the braid. I press down firmly for a quick second (and by quick I mean just enough time to secure a tight squeeze and then I release)
Continue all the way down the braid.
Repeat on the opposite side.
I let the braids cool down for about 2 or 3 minutes and then take out each braids. Just enough time to put a face of make up on when I am in a hurry!
I finish off with a Sea Salt Spray -- the brand I use is Not Your Mothers Beach Babe Texurizing Sea Salt Spray, I picked mine up at Urban Outfitters for $8.00.
The final product -- a lose beachy wave :)
