Coral, Tan, & White

The brighter the clothes the happier the girl. Neons just screams {see what I did there?} spring and summer!

While recently browsing the mall I popped into Express when I saw a "40% off entire store" sign -- lets be honest, who wouldn't walk in with a sign like that? My eyes went straight towards this heavenly bright tank. I picked up this top and a fun flowy skirt -- which you will see soon -- for a total of under $40! A successful day of shopping if you ask me.

When I took the blouse off the rack I was pleasantly surprised when I spun it around. Scroll on down to see the fun 'peek-a-boo' back!

How great is the back of this blouse? Its one of my favorite things about the gorgeous little number.
Coral Blouse -- $24.00, Express Sale. | White Pants -- $60.00, Levis. | Belt -- $14.00, Old Navy. | Sparkle Sandals -- $16.00, Target. | Bracelets -- $14.00, Francescas. | True Love Bracelet -- $18.00, BCBG. | On my nails -- Essie 'Cute as a Button'.

Color Block Maxi

I love maxis...
I love color blocking...
 I love teal...
So whats not to love about this dress?
I can also throw on my ever faithful jean jacket to wear in the classroom which makes it all the better. Although I adore neons and other eye catching brights I sometimes have to remind myself spring is all about pastels. The colors in this maxi blend the best of both words.

I can't think of a pair of earrings that get more wear than my teal drop baublebar earrings. Teal not your color? Baublebar actually carries them in a ton of colors -- including a clear stone, which I am thinking I may have to purchase before they go out of stock!

Maxi -- $29.99, TJ Maxx. {this is as similar as I could find, ladies!} | Teal Earrings -- $35.00, Baublebar. | Sandals -- $14.00, Kohls. | Nails - Cute as a Button, Essie.

Don't forget to follow! I hope to see you back again!

Tan Maxi

Maxi skirts have to be one of the most flattering current spring trends. I have a variety of colors and styles and yet I still find myself gravitating towards them at each store I step into. Adding a large staple piece like this teal bubble necklace can jazz up this otherwise casual ensemble. How are you sporting your maxis this season?

Tan Maxi -- $16.00, Body Central | Strapless Tank -- $6.00, Body Central. | Teal Bubble Necklace -- $12.00, Etsy. | Sparkle Sandals -- $16.00, Target.

Casual Teal Sequence

On gorgeous days like today I like to pretend I am still in college and plant myself at a restaurant's patio and drink endless mojitos.

Well I didn't drink endless mojitos, in fact I went for the healthy 'lojito' as they called it -- clever little restaurant -- and enjoyed a nice lunch date while basking in the sun and admiring my adorable aztec sequenced skirt. I mean really, how cute is this thing? Does anyone else fall in love with pieces of clothes like I do? sigh.

Since it was a casual Sunday lunch I paired my sequenced skirt with a strapless tank, jean jacket, and the comfiest sandals I have ever owned. These adorable tan sandals set me back a whopping $14.00 {can you believe it} and are the most comfortable pair of sandals I currently own. Oh and did I mention they are LC Lauren Conrad? God love her. She's the best!

Don't forget you can still use my 10% discount code {Blogs10} for all Kohl's purchases until May 10th!

Meet April!

Not only do I love writing my own blog but I love to check out what all my ladies are doing on their pages as well. What better place to pull some inspiration from? I have linked up with the wonderful April from April Golightly to share some of her great ideas with my readers. If you follow xo Christine Marie you know I love sharing outfits, beauty tips and nail polish but April is here to share some of her favorite sunglasses! How come I never thought of that?! She's a smart gal {did I mention she's a former attorney? Smart and Pretty!}

Take it away April!

Spring is here and it's time to start protecting your eyes from the powerful sun. Personally, I wear sunglasses year-round, but I also live in Florida, the Sunshine State. They were not kidding when they nicknamed Florida!
I have about 10 pairs of sunglasses and wear about 6 on a revolving basis. That is mostly because at least 4 pair are missing in action at any given time. I also share some unisex sunglasses with my husband. It is very odd, but I have found that if a pair of glasses look good on him, they will also look good on me and vice-versa. Such a weird coincidence since finding a pair of glasses to fit my face is an exercise in extreme patience. If you can figure out a way to make this happen, I would highly recommend it!
I usually buy my sunglasses from discount stores, as I hate to spend full price for a pair of shades that I might lose. I did pay full price for Chanel glasses, but that was a long time ago and in reward for an amazing grade inschool. I frequently wear my Lilly Pulitzer sunglasses that I have in both white and dark brown. They are the cat eye type that I found on Ruelala. Amazing that they fit my face, but I liked them enough on the site that I gave them a try. My red aviators by Escada were purchased on Ideeli and are worn by both my husband and I. The last pair that I wear all the time were actually found by my sister the night of my bachelorette party. They were in the road and would have gotten run over. Turns out they were Carreras with a price tag of around over $200. Pretty cool save and a great story!
As the sun gets more powerful, if you aren’t already wearing sunglasses on a daily basis, you better start protecting your eyes now! I am a huge fan of over-sized sunglasses that cover as much skin as possible. You are protecting both your eyes and the precious wrinkle prone skin around them.

Which sunglasses are you lusting after this spring?

How great is this expectant mommy? Don't forget to go check April out at April Golightly! I have a ton of posts coming in the next few weeks and even a Date Night outfit coming on April's blog this week! Make sure to go check it out! Follow my blog to see when that will be posted!

Coral & Chambray

People say you get sick more your first year of teaching then any other point in your life. Welp.
That has certainly proven to be true in my case. After being bed ridden with a horrible 24 hour stomach bug yesterday I wanted nothing more than to get out of the apartment today, soak up some vitamin D and enjoy a Starbucks Refresher.
yum

My parents drove down to visit this weekend so lucky for us all this bug only stuck around for 24 hours -- I was able to spend this gorgeous day out in town shopping with my mom and honey. But only after relaxing and catching up outside of a Starbucks first.

Upon entering Express a few weeks back these bright tangerine shorts caught my eyes and my heart was taken. Of course, I went into Express to purchase something different entirely and I knew I wouldn't be able to wear them for a few weeks -- but what could I do? I had already fallen in love. I wouldn't typically spend $40 on a pair of shorts but if you guys frequent Express you know there is never a need to spend full price! Whether it's emails, coupons in the mail, or in store sales, you are always bound to catch some bargains.

{Want these beauties? Hurry, hurry! All Sale items are an Extra 40% off and they are running a separate sale on all their bottoms!}

So if you follow my instagram {@xochristinemarie} then you are already well aware of my current love affair with these sparkle sandals from Target. Can you say a -dor -a -ble! I don't think I have really taken them off since purchasing them over Easter weekend. My advice to you, is run don't walk to your nearest Target!

I don't know about you but once I feel better after being sick I am in an even better mood then normal -- Add a nice 70 degree day, having my parents in town and finally getting to sport these adorable shorts and you can bet I was smilin'!

Oh and a funny side note. We all remember the Pharrell/Clipse song Grinding, right? Circa 2005 -- many high school dance memories just came to mind just typing the song title. We ran into Clipse's No Malice while at Starbucks. If your anything like me you might have said 'uh who?' which is exactly what I did when my boyfriend got so excited and said "hey". haha.
Coral Shorts -- $40.00, Express.| Chambray Button-up -- $40.00 , American Eagle. | Sandals -- $16.00, Target.

I hope everyone is enjoying a warm, fun, and healthy weekend! Don't forget to follow my instagram @xochristinemarie!

Stripes & Brights

Ever find a color combination you adore and want to showcase daily?
For me, thats coral and teal. I have a plethora of both corals and teals
 -- shoes, shirts, skirts, accessories,
you name it.. I got it.

The warm weather has arrived and it appears to finally be sticking around which means, naturally, I am gravitating towards all my bright spring items. Corals, teals, lime, tangerine -- eek I am getting exciting thinking about how much my wardrobe expands with the higher temps!

However, I think I may have over wished for this spring weather, we seemed to have bypassed spring and arrived at summer. I can't complain. This girl loves some heat

Have a color combo when the weather gets warm?

Peep my teal phone case? hehe.
To stay cooped up inside on a gorgeous day feels like a sin -- I know I am not the only one. A walk around the lake, a few rounds of tennis or just a walk with the pups and dinner on the balcony, you'll find the honey and I outside soaking it all in.

Rejoicing over Springs arrival ;) A little over dramatic? Me? Never.
Stripped top -- $12.95 , H&M. | Pink Skirt -- $12.00 , Target. | Teal Flats -- $24.00, Urban Outfitters. | Jean Jacket -- $60.00 American Eagle.
