My Go To

We all have a go-to outfit, and I don't mean the yoga pants and slouchy sweater type, I mean the 'I actually need to look put together' type. My pixie pants and leather boots have been just that this winter. I could throw on just about any top with the combo and feel satisfied and comfy. {win-win if ya ask me!}
After a Starbucks run this flowy Gap blouse and cozy Brandy Melville sweater were the perfect pair for my go-to ensemble. What better accessory to stroll the beach in than my favorite Cali state necklace from Etsy. Yeah its big and gaudy, just the way I like it!

This has quickly become our favorite spot to stroll the beach shore and giggle at all the cute dogs down on dog beach. Bailey gets to tag along when we actually head down to the sand and if you follow my instagram you have seen videos of our crazy pup causing a scene with the big dogs. On this walk we planned out our Valentine's plans and enjoyed the bit of cooler weather we are finally getting out West. Shorts -- you are gonna have to wait to come back out for another week or two!

Denim on Denim

As some of you may know our winter was short lived over here in Cali. With that being said I have already traded most of my boots in for flip flops and tucked away the scarves. Since I hadn't lived in Cali over winter since I was in middle school it has taken some getting use to. You mean I can wear shorts and tank tops in January and its fashionably acceptable?

For a casual day of errand running I decided to mix some denims and throw on some chucks with a touch of bling. Anyone else love mixing casual wear with over the top bling? { I do, I do!}

Valentines Flirty Day 2

Is it not warm enough to wear shorts quiet yet? Looking for a flirty yet similar look to last week's post? I exchanged the shorts for a pair of white skinnies and traded the stilettos for booties and voila, another way to to bright a touch of flirty valentine colors to a night with your Valentine.
If you have been following my instagram then you know this holiday weekend was spent soaking up some rays at the beach. We are experiencing some unseasonably warm temps and it's just what I needed -- to clear my mind and spend the days in the warm sun with the sound of the waves.

But I have to admit, I don't know if I am quite ready to say goodbye to my booties and sweaters for the season! Grass is always greener...

Valentine flirty Part 1

In typical girl fashion I adore Valentine's day. Maybe because I am lucky enough to have a Valentine -- I am sure I would have a different opinion if otherwise -- but nonetheless I adore getting dressed up and showing my honey off around town.

I see a ton of posts this time of year with 'unconventional' approaches to Valentine outfits. But just as the holidays aren't quite the holidays without some red, green and sparkles Valentine's just doesn't feel quite as perfect without some dashes of red and pinches of pink.

This outfit doesn't scream hearts and roses but has just a touch of blush pink with the flowy blouse. With some loose shorts but tailored blazer I think it has the perfect blend for a flirty night out. And how amazing are these layered necklaces? Obsessed.

2013 Recap & 2014 Hopes

Wow has the last month been a whorl wind! I keep having to check the calendar to truly believe that we are already half way into January. Where have you been Christine? You haven't blogged in nearly a month?! I know, I know. Lets see if I can sum up the last month in this paragraph. Ready, go. The week after our Kendra Scott event I finished up some last minute Christmas shopping to begin packing for our flight back East for Christmas. We spent the week of Christmas back in Maryland with our parents, and in that short week we had to schedule in time with our best friends who are spread out across the county and, unfortunately, our times together are now few and far between. Upon arriving back in California with 2 days to spare until New Year we had to start planning what we'd be doing because {oops!} didn't quite get to planning while concentrating on our trip back East. New Years came and went quickly and we were already preparing for 3 guests flying in for the following week. After a week of entertaining guests -- one who had never been to Cali so it was especially fun to show her around -- and constant nights out for dinners and drinks, here we are...

A quiet empty house and finally a moment to take a deep breath and reflect on this crazy month. As you can imagine with all of this craziness and considering I have been in a constant state of buziness my little ole blog took a back seat and I wasn't able to snap any pictures for you all. Which got me thinking...
... When I first began my blog I wanted to do everything the right way. I bought blogging books. I didn't launch my blog until the design was perfect {in my eyes}, I had many posts written and learned how to use a professional camera. I read articles and books that said "if you are going to showcase clothes don't mix too much of your personal life because readers are there for your clothes."  and to be honest, I tried to do just that.

But if 2013 has taught me anything about blogging it is that there is no right way. And that is exactly what makes it so fun. So with that being said I thought I would give you a little sneak peak of where you can find me when I am not out taking pictures for the blog or running after little ones at work.

Interested in seeing more of my personal life and what I am up to in between blog posts? Make sure to go follow on instagram @xochristinemarie and leave me a comment below letting me know and I will begin to incorporate more lifestyle posts here at xo Christine Marie.

Over the holidays I have had quite a few companies read out to work on collaborations and giveaways so keep your eyes posted for some exciting things in 2014!
