Patterned Shorts

The second I spotted these patterned shorts I knew I had to make them mine. The comfy material, loose yet tailored fit, and fun print -- SOLD! I find summer clothes so fun to style. The challenge of wearing an item to stroll the beach and then spicing it up for happy hour at the pier. But with items like these, its not much of a challenge. If you haven't noticed thats become a common theme of my closet; being able to dress down or up just about any item.  A flowy white top half tucked with a panama hat for day, a fitted crop top and strappy sandals for a few 'umbrella topped' cocktails at night.

If you are planning a summer trip and trying to pack light, a pair of fun patterned shorts would be the perfect summer must have.

Bralette & Maxi

I am not a big horoscope reader. To be honest, I'm Catholic and welp, the two don't quite go hand in hand. But I will say I love reading personality characteristics of my sign. I'm a Cancer (which I think has the worst name, for obvious reasons, and our 'symbol', well thats not pleasant either -- if you don't know what it is go ahead and google it and you'll quickly see why) But being a cancer means two things: 1.) My birthday is coming up! Yiippeee! And it's my Golden Birthday ya'll! So some extra celebrating will be in order and 2.) It means we are summer babies and beach dwellers.

If you follow my posts and instagram then you already know the beach is my second home. The water is said to 'calm' cancers. When we are stressed, where will you find us? The beach or a shower. Yup, sounds about right. Looking through my past posts and at all the outfits I have planned to share with you all in the next upcoming months I realize just how much this has become a real part of my style.
My go to summer outfit? Maxis and flowy crop tops, ladies.  I mean lets be honest, we've all seen the eCard that says "Maxis are like a dressier version of yoga pants". You got that right. Before maxis I didn't quite think there could be something better than a yoga pant, and then the maxi was born. Ya'll have seen maxis all over my blog, pinterest and in just about every store, so nothing new there. I am always looking for a way to add some spice to my typical beach attire but by adding a flowy top with a flirty bralette steps it up just a pinch.

How are ya'll styling your maxi's this season?

Peekaboo Bralette & Romper

There is just something about spring and rompers that go together like peanut butter and jelly. The warm yet breezy weather suits the laid-back feel of my new favorite romper. Wait, I think I have said that about each romper I have posted about. Is it possible to have 5+ favorites?! I say, yes.
Flowy, oversized, backless and crop tops -- they are all front and center this season and can all be extremely difficult to find the correct undergarments so I say Hallelujah to these adorable lace bralettes. Which is funny considering my college self would cringe at the idea of exposing a bra strap.  I  styled a similar bralette with an oversized flowy top a few weeks back but this week my low cut Teal & Tala romper really show cases the lace detail.

Now, I probably wouldn't wear such an outfit to the store or out to dinner but a happy hour by the beach or a stroll down the pier after a day of soaking up the sun? Heck yeah. And lets be honest ladies, if you follow my instagram then you know, majority of my free time is spent at a brunch, happy hour or strolling the beach. Life is good.

And is anyone else as obsessed with hats for spring and summer? I just can't get enough, ya'll.

My Warby Parkers

Last Fall my glasses prescription had changed and as much as I loved my 5 year old Diors I knew it was time for a change. I was on the hunt for a new style of specks. I was browsing Instagram, as I always do, and came across a fellow bloggers pic where she was sportin' some adorable glasses. After asking where they were from she not only introduced me to a brand I was unfamiliar with but was kind enough to even tell me the style.

The brand? Warby Parker. Cute name and I was a bit surprised I had never heard of them. I jumped on their site and was shocked to see most of their glasses were under $100 and they would even send them to you to try on before a purchase. I was immediately sold. I sent my prescription right over. The next day I received an email from a Warby Parker employee saying they had a question about my prescription. I replied and within minutes I receive a response saying they were sorry to have to even contact me and offered me 10% off on my purchase. Um, customer service you receive an A+.

Why am I going on about Warby Parker? Well just like that instagramer who was kind enough to pass on the information about these babies to me, after a ton of questions on my instagram photos I wanted to pass along the news to y'all! And if you're a Toms Shoes fan you'll love this, for every pair sold they give a pair away to someone in need. The timing couldn't be any better to share this with ya'll because this brand that I already find awesome is launching some new styles for a special cause. And to be honest, they remind me a lot of mine! See how I style my glasses then go ahead and scroll down to read about Warby Parker
