Summer round up

Its that time of year again. Fall is slowly appreciating and each and every blogger out there is sweating their behinds off posing in their favorite Fall attire. As fun as it is to think of pulling out some scarves and boots I am not ready to say goodbye to summer. But if you are a regular reader you are in no way surprised to hear that.

Instead of showing y'all my favorite upcoming Fall looks I will be recapping some of my favorite summer looks because this is the time of year when all these items will be hitting the sale racks and lets be honest, we will have a good month before we really have to put away the tanks and shorts.(well a big longer for us Cali girls)
This summer I have adored patterned shorts, you can see how I styled some here and here. On a date night I loved pairing a colorful pair of patterned shorts with crop tops and flawy tanks. For this particular date we were celebrating on a weeknight {sometimes you need a midweek date to help pull you through the rest of the week} . Since we were walking to Main Street I opted to skip the heels and pair my shorts with some fun lace up sandals. On our walk to dinner a friendly older gentleman  stopped us and insisted I needed a flower in a my hair for our Date. He reached into his garden and handed me this gorgeous flower. With a huge smile on my face I gladly placed the flower in its new home for the night.

Florals

Something about floral prints makes me feel extra feminine. When the honey and I do date nights I love to put on that extra spritz of perfume, I nearly always make sure wear a heel, and tonight, I doubled the florals. He may see me everyday in my laid back work outfits and gym clothes but on date nights I like to channel my inner girly-girl and try to impress with some extra feminine touches.

When I spotted this stripped and floral crop top I was immediately impressed with Target for combining 2 of my favorite trends, strips & florals. Make it a crop top? Sold. I will admit the crop top seemed like a good idea for a flirty date night, but my belly disagreed after a few glasses of wine and plates of Italian food! {note to self Christine, eat a salad when wearing a crop top

Beach Bum

I really don't think there is a better shirt to describe me. Am I right? As soon as I saw Style Lately post a shot of this adorable summer Tee I knew it was made for me. The US Surf Open is in full swing here in Huntington Beach which means the beaches are flooded with on-watchers and surf fans. Last year we were new to the area when the Surf Open arrived and due to the massive crowds we decided to stay back and clear of the beach. So this time around we decided to head down and see what it was all about since we are now walking distance and didn't have to pay an arm and a leg for a parking spot or wrestle anyone over a bike rake.

What better place to debut this cute tank? I paired it with some simple white cut offs, a chambray button up for when the sun goes down, pink lip, and my floral clutch which really made the teal pop.

Wondering how the Open went? Well lets just say the honey and I may have been the oldest ones there and the only ones not in itsy bitsy bikinis, so I think we may take a backseat again next year. But hey we gave it a try, had some giggles, and decided to sit down for a drink so it was a day well spent!
