Pop of red

This is officially my second Fall living in SoCal and, well, I am still trying to figure it all out. Evenings...super chilly. Days...beach weather. Whats a gal to do without having to go through two outfits a day {and lets be real my schedule and my budget don't quite allow for this}. In my eyes, Fall is all about a happy mix between my winter and summer wardrobes, which means dresses with light coats, shorts with oversized sweaters, and my all time favorite type of shoe...the bootie. It says 'fall I am ready for ya but not quite prepared to brave the snow'.  Yup, I like the way that sounds.
For an evening out I paired one of my favorite little black dresses with a fun flowy Forever 21 coat. I have a hard time evening thinking of this as an actual coat because it is really a sweater that happens to open in the front with some fun angles and buttons. It's light, and feels just like a sweater, which is perfect for tonights occasion. Adding some casual booties and the perfect pop of color for this season and I am ready to transition from the sunny days to the cool evenings.

Green & Yellow

Welp, I can't fight it any longer. Fall is here and I have to accept that my teals and neons have to  go {for now, I'll see you soon} and it's time to welcome back my hunter greens and maroons. Although I will miss the long days and beach weekends it is always fun to incorporate new colors and items into my wardrobe. A breath of fresh air, if you will. Since letting go of summer is hard on me, #tear, I like to introduce fall one small step at a time. Last week; a dark lip. This week; a cargo vest. Baby steps, Christine, baby steps...
Fall has only been here for one day and I would be lying if I said this was the first time I have worn my {now} new favorite vest. Expect this bad boy to be on repeat this season because it will be the perfect way to transition my summer pieces while still battling this California heat! How are you slowly introducing your autumn pieces?

Goodbye Summer Date Night Wardrobe

Now that we are officially two weeks into September I have to officially accept Falls pending arrival. I will admit, trips to Bath & Body Works and sniffing all the autumn scents has helped me realize  some of the things I have love about this season. Summer weather is still in full swing out here in California and even though I may be mentally ready to throw on a pair of boots and light my apple cider candles, the heat is telling me shorts and blazers are still a-okay. If you live or have been to California you know our evenings can get quite cool, no matter the season or day time temp, so a light coat is always a good idea.
Not only do I love blogging, reading bloggers and chitchatting with other bloggers, I also love the vlogging world. If you also watch YouTube and are familiar with Alex of HRH Collection then you will know exactly why I say I channelled my 'inner-Alex' when I paired these casual distressed cut-offs with a dressy blazer. A bold lip and I am ready for my dinner date!

Have you had a go-to evening look this summer you are sad to say goodbye to?
